Asked whether Bulgaria would block Macedonia’s EU road, President Stevo Pendarovski said on Wednesday there had so far been no announcements, but there were no guarantees that it wouldn’t happen at same latter stage, during the negotiations. “There hasn’t been an announcement by any relevant factor in Bulgaria that they will block us now,” he stated, adding that it remained to be seen how Bulgaria and Greece would act further from the standpoint of the Prespa Agreement in that very long process. Asked about the issue of shutting down embassies, the President said the Government made those decisions. “The goal of the analysis requested by me after I had taken office and received from the Foreign Ministry was for me to hear from them whether there are diplomatic-consular missions that aren’t supposed to exist in order to strengthen activities in regions and countries that are more important to us at this moment,” he said.
