Nobody from today’s generation of politicians has the right to reach deals or negotiate on the language and identity, according to President Stevo Pendarovski. As he said in Wednesday’s address to Parliament, if the price of EU accession is giving up on the identity and language, that’s an unacceptable condition for every Macedonian. Also, the President added that though there was absolute readiness for confronting arguments over certain historical controversies related to different interpretations of a same event or figure, the right to self-identification had been and would be outside of any debate.
