President Stevo Pendarovski paid an official visit to Montenegro on Tuesday, where he held a meeting and a mutual press conference with his Montenegrin counterpart, President Milo Djukanovic. Pendarovski and Djukanovic concluded that their respective countries nourish very friendly relations and agreed to maintain the good cooperation in all fields in future. The interlocutors also discussed the current situation in Ukraine, concluding that the current political events and conditions in the Balkan region are gaining new dimension amidst the war in Ukraine. “EU must make strategically resolved decisions concerning the enlargement, because the more this process is delayed, the more the trust of our citizens in the EU is decreasing. I am very glad that my counterpart and friend Djukanovic shares these positions with me. We discussed many current affairs, and agreed that through cooperation we can achieve a lot,” Pendarovski said. Montenegrin President Djukanovic said that they see North Macedonia as a great friend and supporter in scope of the processes for Euro-Atlantic integrations. “I hope the recent elections and establishment of new government in Bulgaria will move these processes forward, because it is a great risk if there are further delays in the start of the EU accession talks for North Macedonia and Albania,” Djukanovic said.
