The presidential race continued on Monday. The candidate supported by the SDSM-led coalition, Stevo Pendarovski, held a meeting with citizens in Rankovce, Kriva Palanka and Staro Nagoricane. “The doors towards the EU and NATO are open. Therefore, we must use this moment to continue the positive changes,” he stated. The SDSM-led coalition also held a rally in Kumanovo, where Pendarovski and SDSM leader Zoran Zaev delivered speeches. In addition, during a visit to Delcevo, SDSM’s Radmila Sekerinska, who is the Defence Minister, stated that all young people in the country greatly supported Pendarovski. “They see in him is a chance for us to truly build a country that will be safe,” she pointed out. The candidate supported by VMRO-DPMNE, Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, held a rally in Valandovo. She criticised the SDSM-led government. “Why haven’t they done anything so that the people her can enjoy life? They promised life but have brought nothing,” she pointed out. During a visit to Bogdanci the same day, VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski urged support for Siljanovska Davkova. “These are not just presidential elections. These are elections in which the future of Macedonia will be decided,” he pointed out. The candidate supported by the Alliance for Albanians and BESA, Blerim Reka, paid a visit to Bitola. He underlined the importance of there being no threshold problems on election day. “It’s important for the country to win so that it gets a date for start of EU negotiations,” he pointed out. The Alliance for Albanians and BESA leaders, Ziadin Sela and Bilall Kasami, respectively, called for support for Reka.
