The Prosecutor from the Special Public Prosecution (SPO) Lile Stefanova went on Tuesday to the Public Prosecution for Organised Crime to provide statement as a witness in the “Racketeering” case. Stefanova was mentioned in one of the recordings published by the Italian newspaper “La Verita” in relation to the case, and she is also processing the “Empire” case of SPO against businessman Orce Kamcev, who is also a witness in the “Racketeering” case. Stefanova remained in the building of the Public Prosecution for Organised Crime for around five hours. “Today I provided my statement as a witness in this case, but for the sake of the investigation I cannot reveal any details,” Stefanova told reporters outside the building. In her previous statements, Stefanova claimed that she did not agree with the decision of her superior, SPO Head Katica Janeva to return Kamcev his passport after it was taken from him as precaution measure for the “Empire” case. In meantime, the Criminal Court in Skopje prolonged the detention of “Racketeering” suspects Bojan Jovanovski and Zoran Mileski for another 30 days. In this case, Jovanovski and Mileski are charged with extortion of 1.5 million euros from Kamcev, while recordings published by “La Verita” insinuate involvement of Janeva in the case.
