Radev Initiates Action for Protection of Bulgarians in Macedonia

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev assembled on Monday the heads of Bulgaria’s Security Services, with whom he discussed possibilities for assistance to and protection of the members of the Bulgarian minority in Macedonia. Namely, the meeting follows the letter addressed by a Bulgarian NGO from Bitola to Radev and other Bulgarian state officials, in which it is claimed that Bulgarians currently living in Macedonia face repression and hatred by the authorities only because of their ethnicity. The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry also informed that the Bulgarian Ambassador to Macedonia Angel Angelov held a meeting with Macedonian Governmental Representative for Bulgaria Vlado Buckovski, and that they discussed about the bilateral relations between Skopje and Sofia, accenting the situation concerning the media, the education, and the culture sectors.
