Radev: Let’s Not Forget Necessity for Resolution of Crucial Issues

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev welcomed the success of the recent meeting between PMs of Bulgaria and North Macedonia in Skopje, Kiril Petkov and Dimitar Kovacevski respectively. “I am glad to receive all the positive signals of this meeting. However, I hope that with all efforts for improvement of economic, cultural and other forms of cooperation, we do not happen to forget the crucial issues that need to be resolved in order for the door for integration of North Macedonia in EU to be unlocked,” Radev said. In meantime, Bulgarian PM Petkov said in an interview for the Bulgarian National Television (BNT) that the teams of both countries need to complete major part of the tasks ahead of them, starting with the inter-governmental conference which is to be held in Sofia on 25 January. “We have this great chance to finally make some progress, and we should not waste a minute more before turning these positions of ours into reality,” Petkov said.
