The Head of the EU Delegation, Ambassador David Geer, said on Tuesday the EU was still analysing the changes to the Criminal Code. As he added, it will present a clear stand on the matter soon.
US Ambassador Angela Aggeler, too, said the Embassy’s legal team was considering the changes. She stated that she couldn’t comment on them because she hadn’t seen them. German MP Michael Roth, who chairs the Bundestag’s Foreign Affairs Committee, commenting on the changes, said it was now not the right time for mutual blackmails and that the EU clearly expected all countries that wanted to join it to continue the fight against corruption.
Academy for Judges and Public Prosecutors President Natasa Gaber-Damjanovska stated that exactly the changes shouldn’t be seen in an isolated fashion from what had been going on over the past period.
