According to SDSM, Friday’s confessions in the Titanic case prove the “criminal rule, blackmails, and threats” citizens experienced during VMRO-DPMNE’s rule. However, as the party said on Saturday, it proves also that all elections during that rule were illegitimate. “Resignations are needed because there are persons against whom there are court proceedings in the current leadership of the opposition. We call on Hristijan Mickoski, together with the leadership, to resign and withdraw,” SDSM Executive Board member Kostadin Acevski said on Saturday. According to VMRO-DPMNE, however, SDSM is hypocritical. “For the last five years, Macedonia has been sinking in crimes in which high party officials and people close to them are involved,” the party pointed out. VMRO-DPMNE considers that the concessions prove there is “brutal political persecution and terror” by the Government.
