The President of the Criminal Court in Skopje Ivan Dzolev informed on Wednesday that the court has officially received the request of former PM Nikola Gruevski for postponing of his prison sentence. Gruevski was given a prison sentence of 2 years after he was found guilty in the “Tank” case which focused on an illegal procurement of an official vehicle of the brand Mercedes. “The request was delivered to a judge responsible for processing sentences, who has a legal deadline of three days to declare if the request will be accepted or not. Gruevski cites two reasons for the delay of the sentence, the first one being his obligation to take part in parliamentary procedures, while the second being his obligation to write a book after his successful defence of his PhD thesis,” Dzolev informed.
