Roth: Germany Hopes 1st Inter-governmental Conference will be Held in Autumn

German Minister for Europe Michael Roth says that his country hopes that the first inter-governmental conference with Skopje and Tirana will be held in autumn. The conference marks the de facto start of membership negotiations with the European Union and the opening of Chapter 1. “I was very dissatisfied that some reputable EU members underestimate the role of the Western Balkans in Europe’s peace and stability,” he points out, adding that stabilising the Western Balkans was the joint interest.
