SCPC: Gashi’s Statement Serious Attempt to Politicize and Discredit Our Work

The State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC) assessed as a ‘serious attempt to politicize’ its work, the statement of the President of Alternative, Afrim Gashi, regarding the SCPC Initiative for criminal prosecution of Husni Ismaili from this party, for abuse of official position and authority while he was Minister of Culture. The State Commission for Prevention of Corruption has launched an Initiative to the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption, and the leader of Alternative, Gashi, said on Sitel TV that it was a ‘very indicative initiative started by political structures, completely politicized’, that it is ‘tendentious’ and that ‘there are evil forces’ behind the SCPC Initiative. SCPC in reaction to the media points out that these are ‘allegations and insinuations of Afrim Gashi’ and points out that in its actions ’it is solely and exclusively governed by the competencies set out in the Law on Prevention of Corruption and Conflict of Interest’.
