The government has rejected a debate in the frames of Parliament on the Struma traffic accident and Tetovo hospital fire, in which 60 people were killed. On Thursday, SDSM and DUI MPs weren’t part of the Standing Committee of Inquiry for the Protection of Citizens’ Rights and Freedoms, preventing the quorum enabling the body to debate information related to the two accidents. According to the opposition, the government’s actions are scandalous. VMRO-DPMNE, Alliance for Albanians, and BESA MPs accused SDSM and DUI of not commiserating with the victims’ families and avoiding responsibility. SDSM hasn’t said why its MPs didn’t attend, while DUI’s explanation is that it was convened in contradiction with the Rules of Procedure because there were no materials about the items on the agenda.
