SDSM and VMRO-DPMNE Remain Divided over Constitutional Changes Issue

The parties’ stands on the constitutional changes remain unchanged. As SDSM MP Martin Kostovski said on Wednesday, adopting the changes is the last chance for VMRO-DPMNE and its leader, Hristijan Mickoski, to support the interests of the country and its citizens, and prove they are genuinely in favour of EU membership.

On the other hand, VMRO-DPMNE said again that there would be no changes. “Let them put up the amendments for a vote at a plenary session and let that be followed by elections. The people has seen that when it comes to European values, SDSM knows only about abuse of European funds and stealing euros,” the opposition party noted.

European Commission Spokesperson Ana Pisonero said all political forces in the country, including the opposition, should work together to provide North Macedonia’s EU future.
