According to SEC President Oliver Derkoski, pressures are always possible. In an interview with Radio Free Europe, he nonetheless says that the current composition will show that things can function differently in Macedonia. In the interview, he was asked whether VMRO-DPMNE, i.e. the party that nominated him, would urge its supporters to boycott or participate in the referendum. “Here, I’m a member of the SEC and I leave the political stands and my convictions at home. When I come to work, I forget about that and we function as a state organ that is primarily tasked with carrying out the referendum operation in accordance with the law,” Derkoski underlined.
