Shaqiri: New School Year May Start at Later Date

Education Minister Jeton Shaqiri revealed that there is an ongoing discussion within the
ministry for certain changes to the calendar of the new school year 2023/2024. “We have
three proposals which we will address to the government. The first is for the calendar of
the school year to remain unchanged with start at 1 September and end at 10 June, the
second proposal is for the start to be in mid-September and the end to be at the end of
June, while the third proposal is the same like the second one, but it includes a spring
break for the students. We shall debate these proposals further, and once we reach
consensus with the parents over some of them, we shall address it to the government,”
Shaqiri said.
