Education Minister Jeton Shaqiri believes that the new school year will start in
September with as less problems as possible. His statement follows the publication by
certain media that students in sixth grade in primary education will have to start the new
school year without textbooks. “We are making all possible efforts to finish all
procedures for the 6 th grade textbooks to become available with the start of the school
year, while those for 3 rd grade are in final phase of preparations and will be available to
the students,” Shaqiri said. In meantime, Director of the Bureau for Development of
Education Zekirija Hasipi said that he feels no responsibility over the issues with the
textbooks in primary education. “We act in accordance with all relevant laws and rules
of procedure. We have taken all necessary measures, and formed working groups and
second-degree commissions which deal with eventual errors in the procedures,” Hasipi
said.
