Statespersons from around the world have congratulated Stevo Pendarovski on his election as President. “Congratulations on your election as the President of North Macedonia. Today, our two nations are closer than ever. The United States strongly supports North Macedonia as it assumes its rightful place within Western institutions and, in particular, looks forward to welcoming North Macedonia soon as our 30th ally in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization,” US President Donald Trump says in his message. Russian President Vladimir Putin points out that the Skopje-Moscow relations are founded on the good traditional relations of cultural and spiritual closeness. Congratulatory messages have also arrived from Chinese President Xi Jinping, Queen Elizabeth and several counterparts from EU countries, including France and Germany, who express support for Macedonia’s road to Euro-Atlantic integration. Among those that have extended congratulations is also NATO Sec Gen Jens Stoltenberg.
