Constitutional Court President Dobrila Kacarska is not optimistic that her institution will be further equipped soon. For eight months, the Court has been without four judges, while it’s been 15 months since three of them retired. MPs haven’t been able to agree who will succeed the three retired judges, while it’s been eight months since the fourth one left as well. The slow discussions and empty seats at the Committee on Election and Appointment Issues, which should approve the new candidates, don’t leave much room for hope. Several days ago, MPs resumed work on the election. The session, however, has been slow and once again marked by a half-empty hall. VMRO-DPMNE’s candidate, Todor Vitlarov, from the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Stip, is on the agenda.
