The Supreme Court has partially adopted the application by former secret police chief Zoran Verusevski for compensation of non-material damage concerning unfounded deprivation of liberty and harming of reputation and honour. According to the Court’s verdict, which was published on 3 July, the state will need to pay him around 5,000 denars for every day spent in detention in 2015 over the Coup case, that is, around 30,000 euros for the 344 days. The decision provides for other payments, that is, Verusevski’s civil costs in the procedure, around 3,700 euros, will be covered by the state as well.
