New Supreme Court President Dobrila Kacarska is adamant there has been no influence on her actions by politicians. In her first public appearance as head of the institution, on Tuesday, she described the opposition’s accusations as unfounded. Also, Kacarska urged parties to elect Constitutional Court judges that, as she said, are professionals and honest individuals from the field. “The Court operates with three fewer judges. Decisions can be made, but the state cannot allow that,” legal expert and Human Rights Institute President Margarita Caca Nikolovska stated. At the roundtable on the openness of the Court, Kacarska promised she would open to the institution to the public. She has already ordered an approval of use of mobile phones at sessions, while she will also try to introduce cameras.
