Marble was paid at a much higher price, too, when it comes to the Skopje 2014 project, Telma TV reported on Monday. As the TV station said, it asked for information from own sources at the Prosecutor’s Office. Though only figures were provided, they were cross-checked with publicly available data from the Prizma and BIRN research. The conclusion, Telma said, is that it’s about the Tsar Samuel and Justinian I statues, both in the centre of Skopje. According to the invoices, the tender worth of the Samuel statue is 1,380,000 million euros. However, Italy-based Pietro Bazzanti hired a subcontractor for 300,000 euros. For the Justinian statue, the tender worth is 1,450,000 euros. In the case, the subcontractor charged 260,000 euros. These two statues are part of the three made in the foundry in Italy. The third is the Metodija Andonov-Cento one. It too is located in the centre of the capital.
