Three new Delta variant cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the country. One of the patients is receiving treatment in Veles. He had contact only with his wife after he had returned from England two weeks ago. The other two people are from Skopje and are relatives. They found out they had the variant after a PCR test for travel purposes. They are not hospitalised. There are another four suspect cases. All of the new cases were not vaccinated. This week, Health Minister Venko Filipce said on Tuesday, the Infectious Diseases Commission will talk about potentially introducing a mandatory PCR test requirement for unvaccinated persons coming from countries where the variant is registered. Filipce believes there should be a more organised approach with regards to the communication in order for more efficient measures to be introduced. The so-called on-site vaccination process will start next week. With regards to the new school year, Filipce said it was soon to tell whether it would be delayed. Currently, according to the Minister, full vaccination of teachers is what’s most important.
