Several members of VMRO-DPMNE, among which former mayors and state officials, gathered on Friday in front of the party’s headquarters in Skopje to demand resignation from Hristijan Mickoski from the position of party leader. “VMRO-DPMNE needs no leader that speaks one thing today and a totally different one tomorrow. Mickoski said that he will resign if he loses the parliamentary election, and now that this really happened, only thing left for him is to preserve his dignity and honour and resign from the position of party leader,” said VMRO-DPMNE member Vesna Damcevska-Ilievska. From VMRO-DPMNE’s leadership they accused these members of working in favour of SDSM, and added that at the moment the struggle against crime and corruption is far more important for the party.
