VMRO-DPMNE Spokesperson Naum Stoilkovski said at a press conference that they are
not surprised by the positions of President Stevo Pendarovski concerning the
constitutional changes. “Of course, that Pendarovski will share the opinions with PM
Dimitar Kovacevski and the real bosses in the government DUI. We remind him that his
obligation as President is to protect the interests of the citizens of our country, not the
interest of Kovacevski and DUI,” Stoilkovski said, after Pendarovski qualified the
conditions set by VMRO-DPMNE to provide support for constitutional changes as
unrealistic. SDSM MP Darko Kaevski in the meantime encouraged VMRO-DPMNE to
remain on the current positions. “Most important thing is that their leader Hristijan
Mickoski accepted to support constitutional changes, and now we encourage them to
remain on those positions and form a working group in order to initiate the processes for constitutional changes and their eventual entry in the government if the changes are
adopted,” Kaevski said.
