Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi has been silent for two days over the no-confidence motion filed against him by VMRO-DPMNE and Levica. Parties from the ethnic Albanian bloc have defended him. Alliance for Albanians said on Tuesday that though it was not satisfied with his work and had a series of reasons to request for him to be dismissed, the use of the Albanian language is not one of them. Expectedly, Xhaferi’s party, DUI, expressed support as well. SDSM still hasn’t discussed whether it will support the motion. Zoran Zaev’s party is still waiting for the Speaker to explain personally why he delivered the address at the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs in Albanian. SDSM’s stand is that the Constitution clearly states that Macedonian is the official language for international communication.
