Party leaders of SDSM and DUI, Zoran Zaev and Ali Ahmeti respectively, held a meeting on Monday afternoon, at which they discussed the probability for formation of the new ruling alliance and government in Macedonia. After the meeting, both party leaders said that they have still not reached agreement over formation of the new government. “Talks will proceed in the following days, and once we reach agreement and realise certain result, we shall inform the public,” Zaev said after the meeting, adding that another parliamentary election will not resolve the situation. DUI leader Ahmeti said that they are neither close to nor far from reaching an agreement for formation of parliamentary majority with SDSM, adding that he also informed VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski about the meeting he had with Zaev. Earlier on Monday, Ahmeti addressed an invitation to all leaders of Albanian political parties in Macedonia, Bilall Kasami (BESA), Ziadin Sela (AA), Afrim Gashi (Alternative) and Menduh Thaci (DPA) for a meeting on Thursday, the exact date of signing of the Ohrid Framework Agreement back in 2001. SDSM leader Zaev interpreted this initiative as a pressure over him and SDSM.
