Prime Minister Zoran Zaev received the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, accompanied by the Head of the EU Delegation to Macedonia, Ambassador David Geer. At the press conference held at the end of the agenda of the one-day visit, Prime Minister Zaev stressed that North Macedonia remains strongly committed to its path to the EU. “We have taken all the necessary steps and reforms and we will make the additional ones acceptable for unblocking the EU enlargement. We hope that the EU member states will also implement the Brdo-Kranj declaration of the Slovenian presidency that they remain committed to EU enlargement with the Western Balkan countries,” said Zaev. The President of the European Commission, at a press conference praised the efforts made by North Macedonia for EU-related reforms. “You have made tremendous progress and made courageous decisions. You delivered and now the EU needs to deliver. North Macedonia’s future will be European. The European Commission stands firm on this commitment,” said von der Leyen.
