“The census is a statistical operation that we must do, it is our duty,” said Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, who commenting on the call from the opposition to postpone it, asked what would be different if the census is held May next year. “The census is held between 1 and 21 April as planned and it should be completed. Although an appeal was sent whether something should be changed, I repeat once again – nobody practices holding census in summer time, September is the election campaign, October is the regular local elections. If we procrastinate now, then when? Should we postpone until May? What will that change? So, we should all focus on coming out responsibly to complete the census,” said Zaev at a press conference in the Government. The Prime Minister emphasized that the census is a civil obligation of all, which is clearly determined by law.
