PM Zoran Zaev said that mass immunisation of the population of Macedonia against COVID-19 is expected to kick off either at the end of March or the beginning of April 2021. “In this period, we expect for the first batches of vaccines from the COVAX mechanism, as well as the 2nd batch of Russian vaccines, to arrive in our country. Also, we expect more information over the delivery of vaccines from China on 30 March, when the Chinese Minister of Defence is to visit our country. We also expect solidarity from the EU, because I know EC Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi is making efforts for that, and that we are receiving funds from EU for paying for the vaccines we procure. We must understand that the shortage of vaccines and the obstacles in their delivery is not just a problem of our country, but a global problem affecting even developed countries,” Zaev said.
