Zaev: Pope’s visit a Huge Acknowledgement for North Macedonia

The PM Zoran Zaev commented on the Pope Francis’s visit to Macedonia at a press conference held right after their meeting. “The Pope’s visit, which is the first-ever by a pontiff to our country and thus a historic one, is a huge acknowledgement of the place the Republic of North Macedonia is assuming in the global community of progressive countries. Vatican, Europe and the whole world have recognized the values, the beauty of various cultures, ethnic communities and religions functioning in a society equal for all. It serves as an encouragement and support for all of us. It is a message that has been conveyed today around the world by hundreds of journalists and TV crew that are in North Macedonia on this historic day. It’s of no lesser importance that North Macedonia and its citizens today have proven they have the capacity to make all the necessary preparations to host a world and spiritual leader, who is an inspiration to millions of believers and good-willed citizens,” Zaev said.
