Zakharova: Name Issue Resolution should be acceptable for Both Parties

The Spokeswoman of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova referred in a press conference on Thursday the events related to the Prespa Agreement. “Russia recognised Macedonia under its constitutional name. Moscow always pledges for a solution to the name dispute acceptable for both Macedonia and Greece. We also need to note that severe violations of procedures were made in the process of the changing of the constitutional name of Macedonia, heavily influenced by Western centres of power. The West is guided by its geo-political interest concerning the accession of Macedonia in NATO, not by their wish to assist resolution of the dispute between the two countries,” Zakharova said.
