Zbogar: Presidential Election will slow down Reform Implementation Processes

The EU Ambassador to Macedonia Samuel Zbogar believes that the upcoming presidential election that will take place this spring will slow down the process for reform implementation, which is crucial for Macedonia’s integration in the EU. The EU Ambassador addressed the session of the Parliamentary Committee for European Affairs, saying that the parliament has already done great deal with the Prespa Agreement adoption, but that there is still more to be done. “Your country is about to face a period of presidential election, which will shorten the period for implementation of reforms. The pre-electoral campaign is to start in two months, and I am afraid it will seriously affect the work of the Parliament, especially in a time like this, when many more reforms and laws, like the formation of the Anti-corruption Commission, are to be implemented,” Zbogar said.
