Zendeli Accuses Ruling Coalition of Sabotaging Procedure for New SEC Member

BESA MP Fadil Zendeli has accused again the ruling coalition of sabotaging the procedure to elect a new State Election Commission (SEC) member. As he pointed out on Tuesday, the goal is to prevent the ethnic Albanian opposition, which consists of BESA, Alternative, and Democratic Movement, from getting the post it deserves.

Zendeli also said that Marija Georgievska, Chairperson of the Committee on Election and Appointment Issues wasn’t scheduling the session for the vote even though the competition announced by Parliament had finished and the list of five candidates had been determined. Though the three parties insist on getting the SEC post, Alliance for Albanians, which is part of the ruling coalition, considers it is entitled to it according to the election results.
