“So far, the Interior Ministry has arrested 18 persons over the Albanian Flag Day incidents. Four of those have been detained, while misdemeanour proceedings have been issued against around 10 of them over the rampaging on the streets and traffic chaos,” Minister Pance Toskovski said on Wednesday, explaining that the person arrested most recently was the one that had attempted to burn the Albanian flag in Skopje on Monday. The Minister called on citizens to act reasonably and wisely.
“The Interior Ministry will resolutely respond to all those that will try to violate the dignity of Macedonia’s citizens, regardless of whether it’s about desecrating a state symbol of Macedonia or of any neighbouring country,” Toskovski noted.
