1st Deputy PM and Environment Minister Izet Mexhiti has rejected SDSM’s accusations that he did unlawful work, that is, that he signed off on cases without legal grounds and in violation of the procedure for administrative action. As he pointed out on Tuesday, SDSM and DUI are acting in sync.
“It’s about regular control that is in the State Administrative Inspectorate’s Programme. They have a remark, reprimand over established practice, not over competences. The practice was established by DUI and SDSM in 2016”, he noted.
The same day, the Government said it had checked the documents submitted by SDSM. It too rejected the allegations.
“The Inspectorate’s inspection supervision concerns aspects of archive work. It didn’t find unlawful action. This administrative practice of work was established as early as 2017 and would be implemented in continuity under management by SDSM and DUI ministers within previous cabinets”, it said.
As the Government also said, if the activities constitute a violation of the law, that means the SDSM-DUI cabinet broke the law.
“The Government remains committed to transparency and calls all interested parties to conduct insight into the documentation, aiming at full and accurate informing of the public, as has been called for also by the Environment Ministry”, it underlined.
However, SDSM said that it was scandalous that the Government had checked the documents in “five minutes”.
“It’s clear PM Hristijan Mickoski’s protecting Mexhiti”, the party stressed, urging again relevant institutions to take action.
On the other hand, VLEN, the coalition where Mexhiti’s party, Democratic Movement, is a member, reacted too, bringing documents outside SDSM’s HQ saying the inspection supervision practice was introduced during its time in power.
