2024 Berlin Process Summit Held

At the 2024 Berlin Process Summit, which was held on 14 October, the PMs of the six Western Balkan countries signed a new Common Regional Market Action Plan (2025-2028), as an integral part of the Growth Plan.

The host of the meeting, held in Berlin, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, said the EU would be complete only with the Western Balkans as part of it. Also, he added that he hoped it wouldn’t take another 10 years for all six countries to become members.

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, underlined the importance of democracy, respecting the rule of law, and early economic integration.

For MTV1, Mickoski, who met Scholz, said Germany remained a strong supporter of the EU path. According to him, North Macedonia’s policy “is diplomacy in which we will defend the interests of our citizens and country, while working at the same time with our partners”.

The PM stated that he had presented in Berlin the Government’s stand that the country deserved to start integration processes unconditionally and demonstrate its capacities.
