30% Supplement Issue: Union Head Deanoski again Calls for Solution to Problem

On Tuesday, after the start of the protests by the Ministries of Environment, Culture, Education, Local Self-Government, Agriculture, Digital Transformation, Economy, and Public Administration, as well as the State Archives and State Statistics Office, Trade Union of Workers in Administration, Judicial Bodies, and Associations President Trpe Deanoski again called for a solution to the problem.

He also stated that even if the employees got the 30% salary supplement, their pay would still be below the average salary level in the country.

“This demand of ours has existed for more than four years. We’ve staged protests and strikes for years over the salary supplement matter. However, no government has so far heard our voice”, Deanoski noted, adding that the goal is for, together with the Government, funds to be found for the agreements in the frames of the Budget.

The employees have demanded new collective agreements that will enable them to get the right to a 30% salary supplement be signed. Though the Government is open to proposals, it suspects the protest has been politically motivated.

“The Government’s open to any type of proposals and suggestions. There are numerous mechanisms through which these matters can be opened up. It’s interesting that in years past, this Trade Union was silent over this matter, so we openly suspect this step has a political background”, Spokesperson Marija Miteva stated.
