39-Year-Old K.E. Charged in Mavrovka Murder Case

On Wednesday, 39-year-old K.E. was charged with Tuesday’s murder of 59-year-old businessperson Vasil Eftimov near the Mavrovka Trade Centre. He was also charged with attempted murder and illegal firearm possession, and issued a 30-day detention measure.

According to the authorities, the 39-year-old killed Eftimov at a parking lot near the Trade Centre in a premeditated manner and for self-interest.

Those involved in the murder have a criminal record, Interior Minister Pance Toskovski said. So far, it hasn’t been determined that the second person deprived of liberty on Tuesday was involved in the case and he was released.

“According to information, the victim had been followed to be robbed,” Telma said in its report.

Also on Wednesday, after the prime suspect’s interrogation at the Criminal Court, his lawyer, Sofija Lalicic, said there was reasonable doubt that police had used excessive force during the arrest.

Later yesterday, the Interior Ministry said that the third person, the man that had been at large, had turned himself in to police.
