“In the last 24 hours, 4 patients injured in the Kocani fire that were receiving treatment abroad have been admitted to the Toxicology Clinic and discharged for in-home treatment following the carried out toxicological analyses”, the Health Ministry said on Sunday.
The condition of all four is good. The number of patients hospitalised in Skopje is 16. The condition of all of them, too, is good.
The previous day, the Ministry had said two and five of the 89 patients receiving treatment abroad would return that day and on Monday, respectively. In the meantime, Darko Kostadinov, the father of 19-year-old Jovan Kostadinov, who saved 21 lives during the Kocani fire, said his son’s condition was stable and good.
“Simply put, he acted on instinct to help people without thinking what could happen to him, too”, he said, adding that several of Jovan’s friends had been part of the heroic act. Jovan himself, in a video posted on Instagram, talked about what had gone on during the fire and how he and several others had managed to save lives.
He explained that people that had previously passed out, too, had been taken outside the nightclub’s door and that even though he had started to feel dizzy, he’d returned to the nightclub.
