Regarding VLEN’s initiative to form an ethnic Albanian academy of sciences and arts, Alajdin Abazi, Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences and Arts, said though there were some matters that should be improved, a second academy was not needed.
“There cannot be two national academies of sciences and arts. There are certain matters that should be improved when it comes to the Albanian language, culture, and history. That can be done as a special department in the frames of the Academy of Sciences and Arts. It’s true that there are problems regarding technical personnel too, but all of that can be improved easily. No matter what action is taken, it should be in the frames of the Academy of Sciences and Arts,” Abazi, an ethnic Albanian, told Kanal 5 on Tuesday.
