Accusations against Presidential Candidates Continue

The VLEN coalition has referred to DUI’s presidential candidate, Bujar Osmani, as “a patient” incapable of running the country because he was a suspect in a corruption case opened by the now-defunct Special Prosecutor’s Office.

“The patient, Osmani, cannot ask for international vetting because he first must start from himself and his friends. It’s widely known that he and his party are DUI-sing the judiciary. They’ve gone so far as to want to pardon ex-PM Nikola Gruevski and bring him back as a national hero in the Republic of North Macedonia,” the coalition said.

DUI, however, is convinced that not only will Osmani enter the second round, but also he will achieve a full victory, that is, he will be the next President.

In the ethnic Macedonian bloc, SDSM and VMRO-DPMNE have continued to trade accusations over their respective candidates, that is, Mickoski’s party has maintained that Stevo Pendarovski just follows the orders of SDSM and DUI, whereas Kovacevski’s party has pointed out that with Siljanovska Davkova, there would be backsliding on the EU path.
