DUI leader Ali Ahmeti, while speaking at an event in Switzerland marking the anniversary of the First Communique of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), said that without the Albanians, North Macedonia has no future.
In his speech, Ahmeti voiced concerns over the position of Albanians in North Macedonia under the current government and the use of Albanian language, and labelled the policies of the current government as nationalistic and damaging for the two greatest ethnic communities in the country.
“[Hristijan] Mickoski cannot form a government without the legitimacy from the Albanians, and we won over 60% of the votes of the Albanian voters,” Ahmeti said.
He also warned of increasing danger of Russian influence in the country, emphasising that the country can only develop and progress in partnership with the US, NATO and the EU.
