On Wednesday, at the event marking the fourth anniversary of North Macedonia’s NATO integration, the road to EU membership was discussed as well.
In that regard, the Head of the EU Delegation, Ambassador David Geer, pointed to the need to fulfil obligations arising from the French proposal and implement reforms.
Also, he stated that it was not true that North Macedonia couldn’t join the EU whether because the organisation didn’t want the country as a member or the country was not able to achieve that.
“None of that is true. We want to see North Macedonia in the EU,” the EU Delegation Head stressed, describing the membership path as very attainable.
In that regard, he also said he was sure that with the responsible approach to reforms and accession talks, the goal of EU integration by 2030 would be achieved.
