Though it remains unknown what exactly will happen after Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election and the administration change, undoubtedly, there will soon be a new foreign and security political reality, according to Hungarian Ambassador Andras Klein.
He believes that it’s interesting that since the election, statements have again started to be made by EU representatives that it’s time for the organisation to think about geopolitics and get stronger. In that regard, he mentioned enlargement.
“We will do everything we can to promote the accession process for North Macedonia. That doesn’t depend only on us. However, if there is some possibility, we will not give up,” he stressed, adding that if the required reforms were implemented and if funds given to the country were used right, North Macedonia would have a very good chance of joining the EU as soon as possible.
