Angel Samarakov, Member of PM’s Security Detail, Reportedly Arrested

Angel Samarakov, who’s part of PM Hristijan Mickoski’s security detail, has been suspected of trading information and using that information to extort money, according to NetPress.

Reportedly, during police activities, Samarakov, and another person, B.K., were spotted in a BMW at a parking lot outside a hotel in Veles, while, during the search of the vehicle, a backpack was found that contained official materials of the Interior Ministry.

The two persons, according to information, were arrested, Lokalno has reported.

“On 30 March 2025, upon previously received information about the crime of disclosing an official secret, according to Article 360 of the Criminal Code, officers of the Internal Control Department, in coordination with the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organised Crime and Corruption, a coordinated police operation was carried out, as were investigative activities to search a home, vehicles and persons on the Veles Internal Affairs Sector”, the Interior Ministry said on Monday.

According to some media, Samarakov would give information to the Grcec clan.
