Arsovska: Municipality of Gjorce Petrov Involved in Ecocide

Skopje Mayor Danela Arsovska revealed at a press conference that the City of Skopje detected an ecological catastrophe near the Lepenec River, where the Municipality of Gjorce Petrov is constructing a new waste water treatment station, and that she filed charges against a private entity and the municipality.

“Our services received reports and came out on terrain, catching the entities in question red-handed while they commit ecocide, i.e. clients disposing of very toxic waste at a landfill managed by private entity which is not suitable for such purpose, and among them also being the Municipality of Gjorce Petrov. We have photographed the location and gathered all necessary evidence to file charges against the private entity and against the Municipality of Gjorce Petrov. We shall never allow anyone to poison the citizens of Skopje only to gain some more profits,” Arsovska said.

From the Municipality of Gjorce Petrov they denied all accusations of Arsovska.
