On Thursday, Energy, Mining, and Mineral Raw Materials Minister Sanja Bozinovska’s Cabinet said she only had Macedonian and Czech citizenship, adding that she wasn’t currently a holder of a valid Bulgarian travel and identification document.
On 14 September of last year, it was added, she filed a request to renounce Bulgarian citizenship.
“Unfortunately, certain actors from Bulgaria, to whom Macedonia and Bulgaria building good-neighbourly relations aiming at overcoming the obstacles for our EU membership is not an interest, instead of a culture of dialogue, exploit the situation. The citizenship she held in the past was obtained for economic reasons, as many Macedonian citizens have done, not, as some actors now want to spin the truth in terms of that being done for national reasons,” the Cabinet stressed.
