On Friday, caretaker PM Talat Xhaferi paid an unannounced visit to the Tetovo Internal Affairs Sector to check the work of offices where the procedure to issue personal documents containing the new constitutional name.
In the video published by media covering his visit, he said Sector lacked organisation when it came to executing tasks on a daily basis. As the caretaker PM added, citizens must be able to file applications and obtain documents at different counters.
“One must communicate with citizens,” Xhaferi added.
The video shows him using a high tone when talking to employees at one of the offices and asking for information about their presence. The video sparked numerous reactions.
“We call for police officers not to be exploited for pre-election campaign purposes,” the Police Trade Union said on Saturday. Caretaker Interior Minister Toskovski called on Xhaferi to issue a public apology.
