At Thursday’s debate on internal affairs, justice, and defence, Justice Minister Igor Filkov said the European Commission’s 2024 Report on North Macedonia represented serious encouragement with regards to required reforms.
Changes regarding the Judicial Council and Council of Public Prosecutors, he added, will be key on the EU path.
“We will start the expert debates on draft changes and amendments to the Judicial Council Law, prepared by the working group formed by the Justice Ministry, literally tomorrow. This will be one of the several events that will follow in the current period. The plan is for us to have completed the process by around the end of December, which means there will be one debate a week. Expectations are high. Conclusions and recommendations from the roundtable will be a foundation to further deepen the text of the changes and amendments,” he stressed.
